MIAMI — Unrivaled, a new women’s basketball league, will play its games at the 850-seat Wayfair Arena under a new multi-year naming rights agreement between the Boston-based home furnishings retailer and the league.
Wayfair also becomes the league’s official home furnishings partner, providing furniture and décor throughout the facility, including Unrivaled’s content studio, the Samsung Galaxy Courtside Club and players’ lounge.
“We are thrilled to partner with Unrivaled to create a home away from home for these incredible athletes,” said Kara O’Brien, head of marketing at Wayfair.
“Our goal in constructing a purpose-built facility for Unrivaled athletes was to make sure players felt like they had everything they needed under one roof,” said Alex Bazzell, president of Unrivaled, “and Wayfair was critical to bringing that mission to life.
“We look forward to welcoming fans into our home this season at Wayfair Arena and are grateful to Wayfair’s partnership and support in our launch,” he said.
Unrivaled is a three-on-three professional women’s basketball league founded by two U.S. Olympians, Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The league, with six teams of six players each, begins Jan. 17.
