Selena Gomez is back in the studio!
In a video posted on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Jan. 22, the singer and actress, 32, teased that she’s working on new music as she filmed herself in what appeared to be a home recording studio.
The clip began with the camera facing Gomez as she wore a white tank top and a pair of black headphones. The Emilia Pérez star then picked up her phone and turned it to show the view in front of her, which included a desk, speakers and a large screen on the wall.
Ensuring she kept any details about what she’s working on under wraps, Gomez placed a red heart emoji over the screen, before switching the camera back to herself and raising her eyebrows and pulling an excited expression. Faint music could also be heard playing in the background of the clip.
The Only Murders in the Building star teasing new music comes nearly a year after she released her last single — “Love On” — in Feb. 2024, inspired by her months spent in Paris the previous year.
The track followed 2023’s “Single Soon” and her 2022 collaboration with Rema on “Calm Down.” The song topped charts around the world and even scored awards including the 2023 Billboard Music Award for top afrobeats song in 2023 and best afrobeats at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
Gomez worked on “Single Soon” with her now-fiancé, record producer Benny Blanco, with the track coming out just months before she confirmed the pair were dating in Dec. 2023.
A year later, the couple, who started dating in June 2023, announced their engagement, with Gomez sharing the news in a sweet Instagram post.

Years before things turned romantic between the pair, Gomez and Blanco collaborated on the 2021 song “I Can’t Get Enough” together. It also featured Tainy and J Balvin.
And showing his support for his fiancée’s latest musical endeavor, Blanco reposted Gomez’s Instagram Stories video on his own account shortly after the star first shared the post.
