HIGH POINT— WithIt, a nonprofit organization supporting women in the home furnishings industry, has launched a free Internship Initiative aimed at connecting students with companies seeking fresh talent.
The program, sponsored by Pinnacle Search Partners, provides a centralized platform where businesses can post internship opportunities and students can apply directly. The goal is to help companies build formal internship programs and expand access for students looking to enter the industry.
The Internship Board, now available on WithIt’s website, accommodates a wide range of roles, from part-time market help and seasonal assistants to full-time summer internships or school-credit opportunities.
To further support the program, WithIt is developing a toolkit for companies looking to create and manage internships, and it plans to compile a list of university programs nationwide.
The organization is encouraging industry leaders and educational institutions to support the effort by posting positions, mentoring students, or sponsoring the platform.
Founded in 1997, WithIt promotes the role of women in the retail and home furnishings sectors through mentoring, education and professional development.
