The new Lavin Mitra collection of indoor rugs has a modern tonal design and is made from natural, eco-friendly fibers including wool and cotton.
Parent company Quorum International added rug company to family of brands.
HIGH POINT – New to High Point, the mantra for Lavin Rugs, a family-owned company based in Fort Worth, Texas, is to blend centuries-old weaving
techniques with modern rug designs.
As the newest addition to Quorum International’s family of brands, Lavin helps to fill out the range of home categories offered by the company to allow for more of a one-stop, whole-home shopping experience.
Quorum and its sister brands Cyan Design and Oxygen currently offer products in the home accents, furniture, lighting, ceiling fan, wall décor, mirror and now rug categories with the addition of Lavin.
“We produce rugs made with natural fibers in India and power-loomed rugs in both Turkey and Egypt,” said Kim Chaumont, Lavin Rugs director of sales and business development. “The goal for our brand is to offer affordable luxury so we are targeting consumers in the younger generations.”
For example, a 5’3” x 7’6” size of the new Optika polyester rug is $108 wholesale, while the 5’3” x 7’6” size of the new Myra rug made with recycled PET yarns runs $131 and a 5’3” x 7’6” size of the new Mitra wool and cotton rug runs $156.
Chaumont said the company’s latest collections feature contemporary designs inspired by natural landscapes and geometric patterns. One of the company’s most successful strategies has been to leverage collaborations with top industry designers and influential voices across social media, allowing for direct access to consumer insights.
“In addition, our own social media platforms serve as powerful channels for engagement, where we actively encourage customer participation through interactive content like Q&A sessions, “Like this or That” polls, and Before/After comparisons,” Chaumont added. “These tools enable us to gather real-time feedback, helping us stay in tune with consumer preferences and deliver products that resonate with our audience.”
At this market, the company teamed up with celebrity designer Tamara Day to debut four rug collections in her Laid Back Luxe line. The collections include 20 styles, from modern and minimalist designs to rich earthen palettes. Day is known for her work on Magnolia Network’s hit show Bargain Mansions and her brand is built around her “laid-back luxe” style, combining touches of glam with a cozy, livable vibe.
Designers interested in working with the brand can request up to three sample swatches of the rugs starting later in November.
“We’re excited to bring Day’s modern and innovative designs to life with our high-quality rugs,” said Jose Lopez, Lavin Rugs president. “Her relaxed style and sophisticated accents create the perfect addition to the Lavin Rugs brand.
I’d say, “Laid Back Luxe” and “Lavin” sound pretty perfect together.”
