According to Erica Filler, marketing and communications coordinator for the Port of Bremerton, the first information meeting will be held on Friday, April 11.
“The teams we are recruiting for include logistics (set-up/tear-down/venue maintenance), ticketing, parking, VIP support, event security, vendor support, and volunteer support,” Filler said. “We encourage volunteers to select as many areas as they’d like when they complete the online application located on the volunteer page.”
Training sessions are scheduled for July 5, July 7, and July 8. The times have yet to be determined.
Volunteers get an event t-shirt, free parking, snacks, water, and a meal on the day(s) they volunteer as well as the chance to work up close with aircrews and performers.
The theme for this year’s show is “Mustang Mania” so count on several P-51s performing, including Vicky Benzing in her P-51D Plum Crazy, joined by Kimberly Kaye, Grim Reaper, Red Dog, Greg Anders Val-Halla, Jeff Lavelle’s Sweet & Lovely, Dan Vance with Speed Ball Alice, and Roger Collins with Lady Jo. Also slated to appear is the B-17 Flying Fortress from the Erickson Aircraft Collection along with the F4U-7 Corsair.
Other performers include the USAF KC-135 Demo Team and the USAF C-17 West Coast Demo Team. Lee Oman Airshows will be there with its crowd-favorite wingwalking act.
A list of performers can be found on the air show’s website.
Tickets can be purchased online and range from $22 to $30. Parking ($5) is a separate fee. Show organizers are offering space for tailgate parking this year for $150 and invite the public to watch the show from the comfort of their vehicles.
Non-shaded box seating is available for $45, and space in an event tent with tables and chairs is available for $145 to $165, depending on the day and row you select.
Organizers note the event will take place come rain or shine.
