Currey & Company took home a Market Snapshot award during Las Vegas Market this week for its Blackthorn Chandelier. With a façade made of cast aluminum, the chandelier is covered in an aged bronze finish that gathers in the crevices for a medieval feel.
Leading up to Las Vegas Market, products were identified as Market Snapshot finalists and showcased across all Las Vegas Market social media in seven weekly themes: Angular Forms; Restoration Station; Dark Glam; Traditional Christmas; Happy Hosting; Plantopia; and Pantone’s Color of the Year. Winners were chosen by popular vote from 40 finalists.

Antique lighting shoppers found lots to love at 1stDibs last year. According to the company’s 2024 e-commerce report, a 1950s pendant light by Finnish designer Paavo Tynell sold for almost $243,000, while a 1910 Tiffany table lamp sold for $220,000, an Asprey cheetah table lamp for about $154,000, and an Ado Chale dining table for $144,000. Streamlined forms and simple ornamentation, together with craftsmanship and creativity, are part of the appeal, according to 1stDibs Editorial Director Anthony Barzilay Freund. Hering Lighting, a German company known for its porcelain tableware and glassware, has created a rechargeable table lamp in the shape of a flower about to bloom. Designed by Stefanie Hering, Burgeon has a delicate shade that sits on top of a brushed aluminum base. The base has an integrated battery and a touch-on/off/dimming button. The shade can be removed and placed in the dishwasher.
Another new handcrafted lighting piece is the Helix Horizontal from Lumifer by Javier Robles. The Helix collection has a system of “T” shaped brass modules topped with a handblown glass globe. The fixture resembles “vintage 1960’s Italian lights with a contemporary and industrial aesthetic,” the company said on its website.
The Aria Collection from Gaspare Asaro is meant to mimic floating. Vittorio Asaro is an avid freediver who was inspired by the serene bubbles surrounding him in the water. Composed of a thick glass handblown sphere, the piece allows for a wide variety of configurations via smaller accent globes, which can freely and easily be attached at up to 11 points for the pendant and up to six for the flush-mount ceiling and sconce versions.
