Elijah Craig Bourbon Just Dropped a Boozy Eggnog Kit

Are you one of those people whose favorite thing about Christmas isn’t presents or Santa or tinsel or stockings or carols, it’s ? If so, that’s pretty weird, but it’s time to feel seen because , one of the best Kentucky brands on the market, just announced a new kit called Craig Nog.

Admittedly, that name is kind of creepy, because at least for one writer it sounds like nog has been extracted from someone named Craig. But if you’re a fan of quality bourbon and this seasonal, creamy, spiced holiday beverage, this new cocktail kit might be for you. Eggnog is traditionally spiked with brandy, but bourbon is a commonly used substitute in the drink. According to a 2023 article, eggnog is still a pretty popular holiday drink. Apparently George Washington served it to his guests at Mount Vernon, and today we still drink about 15 million gallons, the equivalent of 240 million cups, annually—enough to make you smile or gag, depending on your preference.

Small Batch Bourbon is produced by Kentucky’s Distillery, the source of other well-known brands like , , and . According to the brand, the point of this new cocktail recipe is to elevate the classic while keeping true to its core flavor profile. “One of my fondest holiday memories is of my grandmother whipping up a batch of her famous eggnog,” said Lynn House, national spirits specialist and portfolio mixologist at , in a statement. “While nostalgia inspired the creation of Craig Nog, we wanted to breathe new life into the beverage. The complexity of flavors found in Elijah Craig Bourbon were the perfect upgrade to begin with.”

Throughout this month, if you live in New York City or Chicago you can order pre-batched canned Craig Nog from Doordash that will be delivered in a special Elijah Craig tote bag. If you live somewhere else in the country, good for you, and you can order a Craig Nog cocktail kit from . This kit includes a 375-ml bottle of Bourbon, pre-measured portions of each of the Craig Nog ingredients (including Madagascar vanilla extract, spice blend, milk, whipping cream, and glittering star anise pods), and a limited-edition etched Elijah Craig pitcher.

If you’re ready to get your Craig Nog on, head on over to the Elijah Craig where you can order the cocktail kit ($80) or the premade RTD version ($60), depending on where you live. And if you want some extra bottles of Elijah Craig, the bourbon, barrel-proof bourbon, and rye are all available to purchase from .
