Several rug manufacturers at the Las Vegas Market this week are expressing cautious optimism about the business environment for the coming year.

“We’ve seen an uptick in business since the election ended,” said Kami Navid, Jaunty vice president of sales. “And, we’ve had a steady stream of people in our showroom this market.”

Traffic has also been up in the Loloi showroom, according to Aaron Miller, Loloi’s vice president of marketing.

“So far the month of January has been better than normal,” said Miller. “We are hopeful it will last. But, with the threat of a 10 percent tariff on all imported goods, including those from India and Turkey, we are getting prepared in case that comes to pass.”

Traffic at the Nourison Home showroom has also picked up since December.

“We’ve been pleasantly surprised at the increase in orders over the past two months,” said Giovanni Marra, marketing and creative leader at Nourison Home.

In the HRI showroom, traffic wasn’t quite as brisk, leaving the company to consider if continuing to show at the Vegas Market is still a good option for them.

“We’ve seen several rug companies and other brands make the decision to stop coming to the Vegas market over the past several years. It’s definitely something we’re keeping an eye on,” said Greg Jordt, HRI’s executive vice president of sales and marketing.

The Las Vegas Market continues through this Thursday, Jan 30.

New direct-to-consumer company Joon Loloi has partnered with AD 100 interior designer Heidi Caillier on its first licensed collection.

The new collection, launched this week, features rugs inspired by Caillier’s love of vintage Scandinavian design, natural flat weaves, and romantic florals.

The Heidi Caillier X Joon Loloi collection includes 22 rugs ranging from hand-crafted designs to accessible power-loomed styles and 20 throw pillows.

Some of the key rugs in the line include Ash, Aster, Lilette and Zinnia, along with the new Maloree and Dana pillows.

Members of Joon Loloi joined Caillier in her home as she explained the new textured rugs she planned to design, all rendered in a slim jacquard-woven construction that she felt was missing from the marketplace.

Rugs in the collection run from $159 to $1,119 and pillows run $35 and up.

Joon Loloi launched last month with more than 500 pieces including furniture, lighting, décor, art, textiles and rugs.

At the 2026 trade fair, Heimtextil will introduce non-textile floor coverings in the new Flooring & Equipment area. Products will include elastic floor coverings, designer and luxury vinyl tiles, cork flooring, laminate, parquet, and other wooden flooring, as well as outdoor floor coverings. The show will also develop educational sessions specific to the global carpet and floor covering industry.

“The new product range fits seamlessly into the hall plan of Heimtextil 2026 at the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Center. We optimize the visitor target groups’ routes in order to guide them efficiently and purposefully to the existing range,” said Bettina Bär, a Heimtextil director.

The international home textiles fair launched the Carpet & Rugs section in 2023 and saw the area double in size for the 2024 expo.

“Flooring & Equipment serves the interests of existing visitor target groups in an even more targeted manner – such as designers and decorators, interior architects, room and object furnishers, DIY and home improvement stores, garden centres, wholesalers and retailers,” said Margit Herberth, who is a Heimtextil director.
