2025 is here, and this past year, the JustGiving community hit massive milestones, made incredible memories, and reached new heights. All while raising hundreds of millions of pounds and making a real difference for charities like yours.

It’s time to share 2024’s biggest, best, and most beautiful Moments That Mattered. But with so many, where do we even start?

Luckily, we took notes (and pictures – lots and lots of pictures)!

Because people didn’t only raise money. They dedicated their time, energy, passion, love, heart, and soul to raise over £584 million (!) for what matters.

Ready for Moments That Mattered? Let’s check out the amazing people, stories, and highlights of 2024.

£584m raised for UK charities in 2024

Let’s kick this off with one of the most amazing achievements of all…

JustGiving fundraisers helped charities raise more than half a billion pounds in 2024!

Dedicated fundraisers created over 1,000,000 JustGiving Fundraising Pages to help good causes get that much closer to achieving their mission.

A few highlights from 2024 include…

£44 million raised in London Marathon 2024

Thousands of amazing fundraisers raised as part of their participation in London Marathon 2024.

Plus, we gave three lucky fundraisers £2,000 bonus donations to boost their impact even more!

Have a tissue handy? Because here’s the emotional video of when we called the winner to let them know they’ve won one of these massive donations.

400+ world record attempts

The JustGiving community isn’t like any other – they go the distance for their causes! Over 400 awe-inspiring fundraisers aimed for new world records, like when the epic Lloyd Martin raised £18,000 and made history as the youngest person with Down Syndrome to complete a marathon.

£200 million raised in fitness events

All in all, fundraisers ran, walk, cycled, swam, rolled, skipped, and danced a mind-bending 79 million miles in 2024.

That included both passionate fundraisers who joined big events like Great North Run and London Landmarks Half Marathon, and also those who did their own activity in their own time.

Not only that – fundraisers used JustGiving to raise £155 million from running alone…an 11% increase from 2023!

The most inspiring night of the year

At the 2024 GoCardless JustGiving Awards, we gave sparkling trophies to eight life-changing fundraisers, who raised £16 million combined.

What happens when people commit to making a difference together? They allow life-saving causes to continue doing their amazing work.

That’s exactly what happened when hundreds of fundraisers and tens of thousands of supporters raised £6.5 million on JustGiving to save Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, which can now continue to help babies with life-threatening conditions.
