Having already given the impression he couldn’t get out of the studio fast enough, the country singer then followed up by posting an IG story of his private jet with the caption: “Get me to God’s country,” which is a phrase now permanently embedded in my daily lexicon.

The whole thing caused quite the stir: viewers were confused, and it sounds like the SNL cast certainly . In fact, Morgan’s exit was the subject of on the following episode, which probably gives you an idea of how his behavior was received in the writers’ room.
