HINSDALE, Ill. – Nora Fleming is doubling down on independent retailers this year in honor of Small Business Saturday. The popular serveware company has announced its plan to temporarily close its online store for the shopping holiday to encourage shoppers to visit local stores and shop small.

On Saturday, Nov. 30, the company is encouraging shoppers to go out and visit some of the independent retailers carrying the brand by shutting down its online store for the entire day. The serveware and minis are carried in more than 1,800 stores nationwide.

Small Business Saturday is more than just a shopping day; it’s a celebration of the local businesses that form the backbone of our communities,” said Nora Napientek, founder of Nora Fleming. “By closing our online shop for the day, we’re shining a spotlight on the independent retailers who have supported our vision and helped make our brand what it is today. They are the heart of Nora Fleming.”

It’s the first time in the company’s 20-year history that it has paused its online ordering system for such an occasion. Nora Fleming’s commitment to independent retailers and small businesses has been part of its foundation since its inception, choosing not to sell any of its products in big-box chains.

Shoppers are invited to use the store locator on Nora Fleming’s website to find the local retailers nearby who stock the brand’s product.

“Our independent retailers aren’t just partners — they’re community,” added Janice Dayon Christensen, president of Nora Fleming. “We are proud to support them and to take a stand for small businesses everywhere. When you shop small, you’re not just buying a product; you’re investing in people, creativity, and neighborhoods.”
