“The show is basically from his perspective, so it makes total sense that we aren’t shown him explicitly doing this to women. Because he would justify it forever and never see himself as a rapist,” another echoed.

It was also pointed out that in the books, Joe does explicitly rape the women, with the OP also writing: “The implication, from my perspective at least, is that he’s doing it while he has them in the cage. This is something explicitly stated (and unfortunately described) in the book.”
