NFL GOAT Tom Brady has reimagined one of Jacob & Co.’s greatest watches of all time.
The seven-time Super Bowl champ, who retired in February 2023 after 23 prolific years in the NFL, unveiled a custom Twin Turbo Furious at the E1 Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday. (Brady’s team ended up placing second in the all-electric boat race.) The Tom Brady Edition is the most technically complicated Jacob & Co. timepiece to date, according to the American watchmaker.
Launched at Baselworld in 2018, the original Twin Turbo Furious is a dizzying display of haute horology that combines two triple-axis flying tourbillons, a decimal minute repeater, and a monopusher chronograph. The Brady one-off showcases even more advanced mechanics, with the monopusher chronograph featuring a pitboard time differential calculator that allows you to compare up to five consecutive lap times and measure every gain or loss to the second. In addition, the Decimal Minute Repeater strikes time using cathedral gongs nearly twice the length of standard rods to deliver a deeper, more intense sound.

The wrist candy comprises 832 components and 75 jewels in total. The manual-winding JCFM05 movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and provides a 50-hour power reserve. All the intricate inner workings can be appreciated through the sapphire crystals front and back.
As for aesthetics, Jacob & Co. says the design reflects Brady’s “personal style and mindset.” Crafted from lightweight forged carbon, the 34 mm watch showcases a tonal color scheme of black, white, and gray that signifies clarity and intent, according to the watchmaker. It is also fitted with a black rubber strap that adds an athletic touch.

The dial is at once complex and mesmerizing. Brady’s signature replaces the Jacob & Co. logo at 12 o’clock, while a single ruby at the hour marker is a nod to his jersey number. The small second indicator sits at 9 o’clock, the chronograph minute counter at 3 o’clock, and the power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. The reference time minute aperture is displayed at 6 o’clock and the seconds at 12 o’clock, while the reference time differential is shown on the pitboard.
The custom creation cost a hefty $650,000, but Brady obviously has no qualms splashing cash wrist candy. The 47-year-old has amassed quite the watch collection over the past two decades. He served as an IWC ambassador from 2019 to 2023, acquiring at least 20 of the Swiss watchmaker’s timepieces in that time. He also owns vintage Rolex Daytonas, ultra-rare Pateks, six-figure Richard Milles, a one-of-a-kind Audemars Piguet, and, somewhat contentiously, a Cartier Crash. The Twin Turbo Furious is, however, his most technically complicated watch yet, according to Jacob & Co.
